An Acronym & So Much More
Monarchs, of course, are beautiful butterflies. They are migratory beings that move throughout the year. In winter of 2024, I was able to see a monarch preserve in Santa Cruz, California, where the monarchs were wintering before they moved on for the warmer weather. They were lumped together in big bunches that looked like living bogs. They were hanging from the trees. They were beautiful and some were starting to fly away.
The image of them clumped together for warmth, while also resting and then activating when it feels warm beneath their wings stayed with me. I believe our day to day life can attend to some of the same needs if we build in a system to do so.
